Dear Ladies and Gentleman,
I would like to move from Acourate to FIR Designer since I need smaller FIR filters combined with IIR Filters. (There are latency issues with the large Acourate filters and it does not really support IIR combination.)
However I have 1 issue:
Usually I do a near-field measurement of each driver and build a driver-specific correction and XO. In a second step I do the room EQ with the first filter applied and convolve both resulting FIR filters to the final summed filter.I think first a local speaker linearization is crucial for constant energy radiated to the room.
So….how do I achieve this with Fir Designer without using 2 chained DSPs? Suggestions?
I have 32EQs and 2048 taps per channel available….
Thanks
We currently don’t have a FIR combining (convolving) tool within FIR Designer, however we may in the future.
Presumably you have access to Matlab or Python and can convolve each of the individual driver FIR filters (from FIR Designer) with a room filter (again derived from FIR Designer using the averaging function for spatial measurement averaging).
What DSP are you using?
