There are two approaches you can take.
Firstly, if you have the original FIR Designer M projects/systems, just load the files into FIR Designer M, change the channel sample rate from 48 kHz to 96 kHz, on the Export tab, double the length and delay sample numbers, then export.
Secondly, if you don’t have the original projects/systems, you can load your filter on the Target tab as follows:
Start a new empty, system and go to the channel workflow. Ensure that the channel sample rate is 48 kHz.
On the Target tab, load the 48 kHz FIR filter, uncheck “Use” “Mag only” and “Phase only”. Also uncheck “Use” on the “Curve” tab.
After loading the FIR filter file, change the channel sample rate from 48 kHz to 96 kHz.
On the FIR Mag Adjust tab, add filters to match the target at the lowest and highest frequencies of interest. Note here I’ve set the each filter to “Lin” linear phase since the target is predominantly a linear phase filter.
On the FIR Auto Mag tab, add an auto mag region to cleanup the difference between the response and your target response – the FIR filter. Note here I’ve set the auto mag region to linear phase
On the FIR Auto Phase tab, add an auto phase region to cleanup the phase difference between the response and your target response – the FIR filter.
On the Export tab, adjust the FIR filter length and delay to reduce the error (between the ideal and windowed filter) to a minimum.
Then export the filter in the format you need.
Note that we don’t currently provide direct FIR conversion tools, but we might in the future.
