I know that in FIR Designer, you can only control the magnitude of the minimum phase by adjusting the filter delay to set the impulse peak to 0.
However, many educational materials talk as if FIR filters are linear phase, and therefore the impulse peak is necessarily symmetrical.
However, this is a matter of choice, and I wonder why they don’t explain this.
