do you have some kind of guidance how many tabs are usually needed for 2 ways?

I will make movies preset, that is 4000/8 output: 500 tabs each. I can increase a bit more for woofer output.

      thanks

        Helo,

The 96K filter design pretty much solve all the phase and overshoot anomaly! it is at 0 now. pretty accurate and smooth!!! I am happy!

But i have a new problem. The time windowing in the end introduce a dip in the final result.

To solve it, i need to increase filter delay! BUT when I do, the XO slope goes up, then i need to increase filter length that create the middle dip again!!! So to get balance between them is crucial.

Do you have tip how to make the magnitude flat, as some windowing will splice/cut it!!

I attach my measurement data, and setting, if you can, it will be great to see how you do it to create flat phase from 200hz with nice magnitude.

I just post a new question a few hour ago with attachment and it seems it is not displayed instantly weird.

            Hi,

One more question, to make FIR with 96k sample rate, do the measure date need to be the same? Can I use 48k instead? if no i need to remeasure.

            Thanks

              Helo,

              Thanks for the feedback.

The speaker is DIY, with all active xo in DSP, so in theory I can flatten the phase from around 200hz no problem

I actually i have done it but not perfect in the 0 degree, it has some peaks and dips like the one in my screenshot.

Yes about the 300hz overshoot, i was doing 48khz sample rate while the xta is native at 96k. Do i need to redo my measurement as well in 96k? I did all in 48K.

I have 2 output per speaker, so I need to make fir filter per output; in this case per driver, then I need to match the phase degree with the other driver. It is not hard to do with the tweeter but the woofer is not easy as it has IIR HPF that will be aligned to multi subs as well.

So let me get this correct:
To measure XTA’s output 1 woofer: IIR HPF at 100hz is on with EQ + No filter for LPF (100hz-650hz)
To measure XTA’s output 2 tweeter: No filter at all, all open + EQ (650hz-10000hz)

are these correct? My goal is to use IIR HPF at 100hz + all linear phase filter (650-10000hz)

              Thank you.

                Helo,

I am using ALL active XO in XTA, 2 ways speaker, one driver in each output. So woofer and tweeter is in different output. I have no problem with the tweeter as it is easier and I can move it around with all pass filter but the woofer’s phase is difficult to get it at 0 and flat!

Can you answer question 1? Do I need enable IIR HPF at 100hz? Do i need to turn on all eq before measurement? Or do i need to open all filter and only keep the eq?

Also the measurement was taken from average of 6 measurements around my head in the seating position.

These questions have a lot to do with FIR, such as 300hz overshoot and question 3. Please answer them.

                Thank you.
